Why Victims Continue To Come Forward

First manufactured and sold in the United States in 1962, Paraquat® (paraquat dichloride) is one of the most commonly used herbicides today. This is largely due to the fact that many weeds have become resistant to other herbicide products.

In 2011, the National Institutes of Health® conducted a study of farmers and found that those who used Paraquat® were 2.5x more likely to be diagnosed with Parkinson's. Additional follow up studies have also confirmed a link between Paraquat® use and the increased risk of developing Parkinson's.

Due to its high-toxicity, The EPA announced required training for certified applicators who use products that contain Paraquat®. Other products that contain paraquat dichloride as an ingredient may be sold under the brand names Gramoxone®, Firestorm®, Helmquat®, and Parazone®.
